Nothing personal

I was just about to read from Eckhart's latest book when I randomly opened the page to the following.

"Do you know someone whose main function in life seems to be to
make themselves and others miserable, to spread unhapiness? Forgive them, for they too are part of the awakening of humanity. The role they play represents an intensification of the nightmare of the egoic consciousness, the state of non-surrender. There is nothing personal to all this. It is not who they are."
