Re: To Rainbow
I'm very glad that you can see God working in your life. I pray you continue to see His works and blessings in your life. And may your husband grow into the husband you need him to be. It is always wise to keep communication lines open. Maybe if you start really commending your husband when he does do something properly (like stick up for himself, tell someone no, or just dealing with a nervous situation) then he might tend to do it more often. Pray for him daily to be a Godly man and recieve the emotional and physical strength that he needs to operate a successful life.
Can I quote some things to you?
-----------------------------------------------------------
1 Peter 3
Wives
1In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands, even those who refuse to accept the Good News. Your godly lives will speak to them better than any words. They will be won over 2by watching your pure, godly behavior.
3Don't be concerned about the outward beauty that depends on fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. 4You should be known for the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God. 5That is the way the holy women of old made themselves beautiful. They trusted God and accepted the authority of their husbands. 6For instance, Sarah obeyed her husband, Abraham, when she called him her master. You are her daughters when you do what is right without fear of what your husbands might do.
Husbands
7In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat her with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God's gift of new life. If you don't treat her as you should, your prayers will not be heard.
All Christians
8Finally, all of you should be of one mind, full of sympathy toward each other, loving one another with tender hearts and humble minds. 9Don't repay evil for evil. Don't retaliate when people say unkind things about you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God wants you to do, and he will bless you for it.
-----------------------------------------------------------
I don't want you to think I'm taking this out of context, but in most situations if this is put into practice you can't help but have your relationships flourish. Now of course if you feel you are in danger, you need to seek help.
And don't forget this,
Have ferven love for one another, don't let your love grow cold for your fellow brethren, because in the end all trivial and petty matters will not matter what so ever.
Blessings and Love in Christ,
Ev
