Again, Islam does not recommend/justify female circumcision. Indeed there are many writings that are against it. Likewise, Christianity and Judaism do not encourage female circumcision as well.
Female circumcision preceded Judaism, Christianity and Islam in those cultures that still practice it.
Those cultures that practice female circumcision used to bury their newly born female children alive, since they did not want the 'shame' of having a daughter enjoying a normal adult woman life. What Islam did was to forbid the burial of baby girls, and to ABOLISH the cruel female circumcision.
If some of the cultures are still practising female circumcision even though they became muslims or christians, this cannot be attributed to their brand new religons, but to their centuries old traditions and practices.
