Re: Tithing or Non-Tithing?

how could "tithing" (tenth-ing) be a personal choice? i really don't see that as one of the options. tithing was REQUIRED in the OT. no choice about it. so either it is still REQUIRED now or it is not required. how could it be OPTIONAL?
pastors are teaching us "tithing" as a something that we need to be doing if we are believers in right standing with God. i have never heard anyone say that we can do it if we want to and if we don't that it is ok.

BTW...
me bringing this point up to a wonderful mentor got me told that i really should consider whether i want to continue being a member of this church... if i have a problem trusting them with my "tithe"
