Re: Tithing or Non-Tithing?

Please help me find the reference. I have not found anywhere in the Word that commands a gentile to tithe to any certain "church". Wow, that word sure has changed its meaning to the masses over the centuries. We all know that the early church met in homes. Matt. 18:20" Where ever two or three are gathered together in My Name, there I will be also". I'm sure we all agree that giving to the needy is noble and needed. I believe many organizations, corporations, and religious campuses obtain their worldly power and control from the money they receive for their budgets and programs. Any references would be welcomed.
