Re: Tithing or Non-Tithing?
Look at Malachi 3:8 & 9 " Will a man rob God? Yet ye robbed me. But ye say, wherein have we robbed thee? In tithe and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.
Then when you go to verse to the Lord promises that He will open the windows of heaven and pour us out a blessing that there will not be room to receive it.
The Lord never lacks on His promises and He says prove him and you will see.
The word tithe means 1/10 which already belongs to God, so when we pay 1/10 we are just giving God back what belongs to Him and we acknowledge Him as the one true and living God.
But He says we also rob Him in offering, offering is our free gift to God to say Lord I love you.. if we give him sparingly of our free gift we will also receive sparingly, so if must give God our offerings as we are moved in our hearts, and we are not to give it grudgeingly, because God loves a cheerful giver.
When we love we give. the Bible says, For God so....loved the world the He gave his only begotten Son....... is it too hard for us to return to Him 1/10 of our income plus and freewill offering. I think not.
