Re: Tithing or Non-Tithing?

"not grudgingly, for God loveth a cheerful giver."

If we give because we think we have to, or because we think God needs our money, our motive isn't pure we are under no obligation.  But as we grow in "the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior" we realize that everything we have is from God.  He provides day after day all of our needs as He has promised us in His Word.  The Holy Spirit will motivate us when to give, where to give, and who to give to. Our objective is to stay focused on Christ and apply faith in Him to the details of life.  It is a growing process, today I gladly give a dollar, next month I glady give two...etc.  We are learning to trust Him daily and the more we trust Him the more we will cherfully give.

Tithing today is used to keep people subjected and in bondage resulting in a guilt trip for not living up to the Pastor's expectations. "Keep the money coming in" or we will have to "go off the air, close down or cut back".  But if it's from God the devil himself couldn't stop it, money or no money.  This kind of thing is a work of the flesh ( wood, hay and stuble at the Bema (Judgement Seat of Christ) and should not be even considered.

Tithing was a system God instituted in the Law of Moses for the Nation Isreal.  They had just left Egypt from bondage and knew nothing of becoming of Statehood, hence The Law and Ordinances. Tithing very simply was a form of income tax.  Ten percent went to The Levites, ten percent went to the needs of the Tabernacle, and every third year ten percent was collected for the poor, the tithe was used to run the nation.

Tithe = Income Tax for The Nation of Isreal.

We do not tithe in the Church Age, we give Cheerfully.
