Re: Questions on the tithe

I might add, though, that many of the pastors with big houses, and fancy cars have a congregation of 20,000 members. TD Jakes, Jerry Falwell, and others extremely popular preachers are bringing the messages to many thousands. I guess those pastors have a higher income b/c they have many, many more church members who contribute to church interests.

I know it may seem wrong, but everyone wants to live well. We are still human beings, only trying to be like God. I think that a pastor who is doing well should encourage his members to spends their money wisely, to save their money, to invest their money wisely, to strive to be as well off as they can be b/c God wants us to have a good quality of life. He doesn't want us to be poor. [That's a way to show His graciousness to non-believers. If we are needy and poor, what's the attraction to become a Christian.]

The bible tells us "you cannot serve God and Mammom". I think we need to seek God first, and make Him the head of our lives, and He will take care of our needs, and furthermore, He will give us a prosperous life.

Blessings,
aj
