Re: Questions on the tithe

There are a tremendous number of church groups that are meeting in rented spaces. Many of these groups bagan in homes, but as they grow larger in numbers there is no room to fit in a living room anymore. I think that at least in the big modern cities, (which is really where I spend most of my time, thus my experience) this is the on-going trend. I have also seen in one particular case where the group got so huge that renting hotel space became prohibitive, and they did better by purchasing an old very large synagogue. My problem is with the big fancy buildings with gold guilded toilet tissue dispensers and designer suits and dresses on the pastor and his wife - and for many high profile ministries this is only the beginning.
For that kind of thing I don't feel like giving a tithe is unto the Lord, but unto the flesh and man's pride of life.
