I see that you have answered some of your own questions since your last post. I should check the forum more often to see if there are questions regarding my first post.
To date I haven't replaced the root canal teeth with anything. My dentist was pressuring me to do it, but I had so much dental work done in such a short time that I was sick and tired of having somebody wrenching around in my mouth. Plus the dental surgeon had a hard time extracting them because the ligaments (3) surrounding the teeth were calcified to the jawbone making removal that much harder. He broke the teeth up into pieces then removed the pieces. He took two or three x-rays during the extractions to make sure he got the entire tooth out and more importantly any Amalgam material. He would only extract one tooth each visit. After the extraction, he cleaned the socket of the bone out to eliminate the bacteria and toxins. Getting down to the healthy part of the bone which in time will heal
Also before the extractions, he did a complete evaluation of my mouth and found two Amalgam tattoos. One in the inside upper lip, and the other in the inside cheek. These are pretty common in people who have had Amalgam fillings. Unless the dentist uses a rubber dam that connects to the tooth he's working on allowing him to work on that tooth while covering up the rest of the mouth debris from the filling process can get into your gums and tissue surrounding your mouth. Not only that, I have read where rubbing of your cheek against Amalgam filled teeth can also cause this to happen. This is why it is important to have them removed by somebody that understands all the ramifications. Dr Huggins would be an excellent choice for getting a referral to such a doctor as he has lead the crusade against Amalgam fillings and Root Canals.
Also the surgeon that removed my root canals found a piece of silver imbedded in the gum of one of the teeth he was extracting. (actually it was his assistant from her vantage point across from him that spotted it) although I'm sure the final x-ray would have shown it.
root canals on my left side of my face and the sinus pain.>
I didn't have any pain with my sinus condition. I just kept getting infections and have to eat Antibiotics every two months or so. One of the specialties of the surgeon I went to was TMJ (Facial Pain) treatment. In fact he required that I rent a device (1 month) that he uses to treat facial pain. The anodyne therapy machine. The theory is that it creates heat by infrared photo energy, which promotes blood flow, and this promotes healing. It has been cleared by the FDA, and the paper he gave pre surgery claims a 98% success rate. Among the benefits listed:
* Reduced Pain Level
* Reduced Swelling
* Decreased Inflammation
* Decreased Muscle Spasm
* Increased Range of Motion
* Increased Lymphatic Drainage
* Increased Blood Circulation
* Decreased Tension and Tightness in Muscles
* Decreased overall treatment time.
He treats a host of problems with it, but I think for me it was to induce healing and thwart infections. If you would like the info on it I can scan it and send it to you via email if you provide your address.
There is no doubt in my mind that your health would improve but it is a judgment call on your part. For me, it took 7 or 8 years before I realized that I should do it. I haven't been disappointed yet just sorry I didn't do it sooner. I would rather eat liquids the rest of my life than be ill. Haven't had a sinus infection since and the Arthritis pain has disappeared as well as most of the fibromyalgia symptoms.
One other thing I had forgotten about that I didn't mention was for years I had a click in my jaw when I opened or closed my mouth and at times this would be worse than at other times. Causing me to get a headache up the back of my head and pain in my neck. I always thought that this was related to the Fybromyalgia in my shoulder since I could feel a connection in the tissue and muscles between my shoulder and neck. This left when I had the Cavitations done on a previously extracted root canal that wasn't done right.
Sounds like you're on the right track and I wish you the best
