I am fully willing to admit my extreme ignorance in all these issues, though I am trying to learn as much as I can and am enjoying much of these discussion. My post was intended, as it seems to have done, to bring the discussion back to sharing information. What I was trying to express is that from a certain perspective both statements are true. Certainly the body produces all the enzymes neccessary to perform complete digestion of all digestable materials in the food. Also, the enzymes in the food are important for breaking down the food to prepare it for our digestion. I am ignorant when it comes to the concept of how enzymes in the food might be involved in the digestive process in the body, and I realize that this is the main point of contention. But I wanted to help make clear that the enzymes in the food are still important for their role. I also want to say again that I hope no one tries to drag Science in general into the mud of such discussions. If anyone wants to pick on a particular study, or particular scientist fine, but if Science in general is picked on, we are going to have words, because then you're picking on my way of life. Take care all, Mike
