Re: Just had a severe attack
I think that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I am not against surgery and I am not against alternatives either. I think that everyone should make their own decisions and not be bullied either way. I don't think that Dr's are butchers, and they cannot force anyone to have surgery if they don't want to. I made my choice to have it done. Yes, I know I took a risk, thankfully everything went well. Everyone here who suffers or has suffered with GB problems knows how debilitating it can be. Despite diet changes and other alternatives, people still suffer the pain! I was tired of the emotional and physical strain that it put on my body, so I decided to have surgery. I tried the olive oil and lemon juice "cleanse" and I did not get any results. I still had pain, missed days of work, had to stay home, couldn't eat anything for fear of having an attack. No one should have to live like that! Who knows how I am going to feel 30 years from now? You can't predict that, with or without a gallbladder. I couldn't go on with the worry that one day one of those stones might have gotten stuck and caused me to have emergency surgery, that I did not want to and was not ready to have.
No one gets their gallbladder out so they can eat pizza! At least I didn't, I can live without all that stuff. I had attacks from eating salad! I did it for quality of life, and so far it has improved mine quite a bit! Best of luck to all those considering surgery, and other methods as well.
