Just want to shed some light on the surgery part of it. I had my GB removed 2 1/2 wks ago. I won't lie to you, it was pretty bad. It's a surgery like anything else, so your body will need plenty of time to recover from it. So far, I have not had any complications or side effects from having it out. I would say that my body is readjusting well. My appetite is getting back on track and I am slowly reintroducing those foods that caused me trouble in the first place. My advice to you with regards to having surgery is that everything is a risk and a chance taken. If you decide not to have surgery you risk getting infection and having more attacks. GB stones are a disease and you will have them for life b/c your body will continue to produce stones. Right now I am feeling pretty good and I am glad that I had the surgery. For me, this option was better than the uncertainty of keeping a GB full of stones that could act up at anytime. Best of luck whatever you decide! If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
