Re: Shelley, please do some more research yourself.
So what makes you think we would prescribe psyllium in those cases?!? FYI, we do not and would not ever. Your patronizing attitude is not welcome. If you'd like to remain and be constructive you are welcome.
And we don't hold bio-chemists or doctors of any kind in high degree until they prove themselves. Most can't think their way out of a test tube. Those who can, like Julia Child, a bio-chemist with her own herbal tinctures, promote the use of salt water flushes and psyllium. Visit www.sensiblehealth.com. Maybe coming from a colleague, you'll listen instead of attack.
You may be right about the sea water, but we only drink one
quart of salted water at a time, and we have the rest of our lives to rehydrate. So where is the danger? Also, the water is SO charged with the salts that it never gets to the cells in the bloodstream! It stays in the digestive tract. So again, where is the danger? Before you get het up about this, I suggest you do a little experimentation for yourself.
And I never put down lecithin, it is one of the supplements I recommend to everyone.
And for the record, I am constantly researching. I'm very happy to practice what I preach, and only preach what I've practiced.
