Re: Help! Having problems with portions, staying away from nuts and coffee!.!.!.!....

Hi Butterfly,

It's a "buggy" meeting... :)
I'm doing the Body Ecology Diet - when I'm not cheating :) - and the book says almonds are fine, but soak them first in filtered water for 12 hours or overnight. I was crazy for almond butter before so I can relate!!! Yes, peanuts are moldy so try not to eat them. And try to take digestive supplement with each meal - they helped me tremendously!!!

Wanting to eat all the time sounds very familiar to me, this is how I was before. It took me a lot of will power to stop it but I did it, brushing my teeth after meals helped (most people have this in their head: you brush your teeth before going to bed and you don't eat any more...). Until you can stop it try to snack on something not that appealing, some green veggies maybe - just because it's really not good to eat continusly, the foods are not combining well, unless you eat the same stuff all day - they just get rotten inside... Try to imagine that, that might help too.
Maybe you are hungry because you really don't eat enough at one meal - increase the veggie part of it and maybe use a smaller utensil and eat slowly if you think the portion is enough and it's only in your head.

As far as the coffee: if you drink it with Sugar and such, try to switch to stevia but be careful, that stuff it soooo concentrated, very sweet!!! If you like kefir, try to drink that on empty stomack in the morning - for some it really helps get things moving. Eventually you will find something to replace your coffee with because it will keep on bothering you that you not supposed to have it...

This diet IS very hard to do, all my friends say they would never be able to do it, so I know how proud one can feel sticking by it and how down one can be when cheating comes... You have to figure out what helps to be in control, for me eating more protein helped a lot.
Good luck - for both of us. :)
