Tracie, just a thought about flossing. A while back I switched to Johnson &Johnson Reach Gentle Gum Care floss. It's soft and kind of stretchy and it really is gentler. And it's kind of thick so it does a good job. Kind of like flossing with a thin, soft cotton yarn. You might want to give it a try.
