Re: Almond Milk Recipe

carrot and almond sounds right up my alley! I adore both and both do well by me. :)

I'm using cow milk currently, but don't worry, it's from organic farms - no growth hormones, constantly tested for the baddies. You wouldn't believe how wonderful it tastes and makes me feel! :)

I did chlorella and spirulina a LOT when I had candida, and still do Perfect Food from time to time. The one warning about chlorella is that it's a pretty tough cellulose to break down, so they should be freeze-dried so they "crack" easily. :) But alfalfa sprouts sounds much more reasonable than spending 40 bucks a bottle, so I'll add that to my list of things to look into. HOpefully they won't give me gAS argh!

Ayurvedic medicine recommends Alfalfa highly for the reasons you mention and of course sprouting would increase their nutrient value tremendously. :)

Spinach is one veggie that really needs to be cooked because of the oxalic (sp?) acid. It's hard on the kidneys and light cooking breaks it down.

Okay, we better start a new thread, this one is way too long and might crash the forum LOL! I'm loving our dialogue, this is a great exchange of ideas. :)
