Re: I feel so guilty..help!!
Hi freshnewday,
I love that name!
Don't be so hard on yourself. The emotions you are putting around the food can have a worse affect on your health than the food you ate.
Just sit quietly and ask your body (and call in some help from the Universe or God based on your beliefs) to digest what you ate. Try a reverse psychology trick. Instead of focusing on the negative affects as punishment, just pamper yourself. Take a hot bath. Do an enema with candles lit. Even say to yourself, wow, that food was really yummy. Embrace is, because the more you try to push these types of things away, the more they'll haunt you.
I learned this great tip through business recently. Take a situation and look at it this way:
- Current state
- Desired state
- Probable outcome
Your current state may be some dis-ease. Your desired state (if you're like me) is to be a perfect picture of health and be able to pass up those yummy chips and dip at parties and go for a carrot stick and some distilled water. The probable state is that you'll cheat at the parties here and there, but you will eat clean the other 80 to 90% of the time....and, take excellent care of yourself no matter what...even post-party time.
Also, read "How to Cheat" on Shelley's FAQ page for that next temptation. She's so realistic and practical.
HTH.
Warmly,
KM
