Re: how i cleared up 7 year systemic candidiasis...
Well, there is protein, fat AND carbohydrate in all fruit and veggies. Nature has provided us a foolproof way of giving us the percentages of what we need, without us even having to think of it. How many gorillas do you know that worry about getting enough protein? :P They just eat the greens and fruit they see around them and effortlessly build the big stong muscles they are notorious for having!
In nature, fat is much more rare. It's a special treat when we'd come across a nut tree, or an avocado tree. We would most likely load up on them for awhile, then move on, living of off mainly fruits, greens and veggies until the next fatty sighting!
I was inspired by the book "Green for LIfe" by Victoria Butenko. She devised a way for us to get in our greens on this diet in an extremely enjoyable way. While you could always poor a low fat salad dresssing over some greens, I have been recently enjoying her discovery of the "Green Smoothie". It's simple, you just toss some bananas and berries (or whatever fruit you like) into the blender along with a bunch of greens and blend. While the greens may change the color of your drink, you don't really taste them. You just taste the sweet creamy goodness of a fruity SMOOTHIE! There are tons of testimonials in her book on people healing all kinds of health problems simply by adding just 1
quart of green smoothie into their diet every day for one month. But don't let this stop you from consuming more than that if you like! :P
It is suggested for a person with candida to avoid all overt fats in the diet for a time, until it feel under control again. Then you can add in some overt fats so it equals 10% of your total caloric intake. An easy way to get an idea for what this would be, is to go to
http://www.fitday.com and get an account set up. It's a free, easy way to keep track of your food. It keeps track of caloric and nutritional intake for each day you enter, and also calculates the % of total fat, carb and protien you took in as well.
Just remember, in order for this program to work you MUST follow the 10% rule. Graham said that of all the people who have called him and told him his program isn't working for them, and that they still had candida, when they sat down and calculated out their diet, they were always over the 10% fat. I find it easy to keep the number far below 10% (which is okay, and recommended while healing in the beginning for a few weeks/months) if I eat ONLY fruits and greens and veggies. I just have been leaving out overt fats like avocados, olives, oils, nuts, seeds and coconut. The green smoothies make it easy. mmmmmmmmmm.....!
Be prepared to be astonished by the fact that within 3-5 days to a week or two (tops), you will notice a drastic metabolic change in how you react to fruit. Your candida symptoms will lesson. (I didn't think it would be possible either before I experienced it for myself!)
Sooo.....if this program resonates with you, I urge you to give it a try. And also just be sure not to knock it until you've actually tried it. Of COURSE I wish I could eat all the fat I wanted! But the benefits my body is giving me far outweigh the alternative....feeling like I'm walking underwater all the time with so little energy, and sensitive to anything remotely sweet! (not to mention all the other
food allergies ....!)
If you want more info, look up either Dr. Doug Graham, or Fredrick Patenaude, OR Roger Haeske...I'm sure there are others, those three are just the first experts that come to mind on this subject.
Good luck! Let me know how it goes. If I can support you in any way, let me know!
