trust me - the exercise will only do good things for you - just don't overdo it. start by light walking on the treadmill and work yourself up. it will definitely help with the mental aspects of this. i am falling into a Depression right now do to lack of exercise. i haven't had a crying spell in awhile but i am feeling my emotional state slipping. i am actually buying myself a treadmill this week because sometimes i just don't have the energy to get myself to the gym. i feel like if i had it right there in front of me i would use it a lot more.
