cortisone/steroids

I am happy that you feel you are on the good path. but i do not think anyone is doing you any favors by giving you synthetic cortisone - which is a steroid.

which steroid are you taking? do an internet search on the side effects of synthetic cortisone and/or predinsone you will find osteoporosis, diabetes, glaucoma induced blindness, hip replacement (oops, hip bone dies), skin problems, personality disorders, muscle weakness, etc. i personally had prednisone drastically lower my thyroid function. (which i am now treating without any drugs). be very careful!

by the way, taking thyroid meds does not heal your thyroid. taking thyroid medication will decrease your own thyroid's activity; no need to make hormones internally if they are being delivered artifically into the body. same thing with taking steriods; they act to turn your adrenals off.

giving your thyroid a boost by checking out supplements on the thyroid forum might yield better results long term than taking synthroid.

i've read in this thread that while chelating taking pharma and/or glandulars to 'support' yourself can be useful. glandulars are totally different than pharma; they can be truly supportive of the healing process, whereas pharma never is... there are always side effects that the body must then deal with in addition to what was already going on.
