Re: Puffy face & Candida???
Johnny, thanks for the info. Can you recommend a good probiotic starter?
Canuckguy..I took a hair analysis test last year when symptoms were very bad. All minerals were inside normal range except Molybdenum, Strontium, Vanadium & Calcium. These were all a little high. Also Antimony Bismuth and Cadmium were a tiny bit high in the toxic element section. Nothing really stood out to me. I was worried about Mercury since I had just gotten dental work done shortly before troubles began. This never showed up in blood, urine or hair though. Also HDL Cholesterol, liver, kidneys red and white blood counts are normal. I've had several complete blood panels done recently as docs were trying to figure out why I was losing weight but everything has always showed normal. Also since having Radioactive
Iodine treatment for Graves and being put on Thyroid replacement all of my thyroid labs are normal. I tried adjusting doses to get rid of symptoms but nothing worked until I started the diet. When I would increase meds the test would show Hyper and if I decreased I'd show Hypo but physically and mentally I felt the same regardless of the thyroid dose.
Since my copper is normal I'm not sure if adding any minerals would help me.
Anne, the puffiness has gone down some since starting the diet but maybe it will take awhile for my body to heal. About how long until most people feel and look healthy again (if they are faithful to the diet)? I know I will not cheat because I've been through too much and I've been on disibility for much of the past 2 years. My desire to get well and return to work is much greater than my desire for sweets.
I had a
food intolerance test done last month (Great Smokies Lab IgE & IgG). It showed NO significant immune response to any of the foods I regulary eat (or dont eat for that matter). I was shocked. If I have systemic Candida shouldnt I have Leaky Gut and therefore shouldn't I have some food intolerance? Could my reactions to food have been solely caused by the yeasts being fed and releasing toxins? I wondered about eggs because I have always eaten them often but they were negative in the test. I'm still eating lots of eggs and I don't notice any reactions. How would I know for sure...or should I just go with the test results?
