Dear Karlin,
in his book "Vita-Nutrient solution" dr. Robert Atkins explicitly advocates use of supplements, whole book devoted to that! He is very big on supplements and that's one of the reasons Big Pharma was accusing is and will be accusing him of everything they can find. Go to the bookstore, pick up the copy and check for yourself!
