Re: Panic Attacks & Depression, Please help
I have had the SAME panic/anxiety for 20+ years...
DON'T be afraid to see a Psychiatrist... that is what you should do first!! Often, a person, has this in their genes, and age or a very traumatic event will bring it on. Medications have worked wonders for me! I saw a Cardiologist who diagnosed me with Mitral Valve Prolapse. Many people have it and don't know it. It can cause palpatations, anxiety, etc. symptoms. I have been taking .25mg of Lanoxin for over 23 years and it has controlled the palpatations well. As for the anxiety, I got on medications from a Psychiatrist... Valium, and Neurotin. They have worked wonders!! The Valium works great for a Quick acting fix fight when you feel the "panic" coming on. The Neurotin is something you take daily that works well in your system.
Don't let others make you feel like "it's in your head"... when it's NOT ~ Genes play such an "ACTIVE" role in our system's make-up... and we can't control this, except to accept it, and see a doctor to find the right medication.
Of course, AVOID all caffeine... it definitely MAKES IT WORSE!
GOOD LUCK!
Susie
