Great post Owen! I would like to add however, it is not only alcohol that can dehydrate people - sodas are another big culprit. I read somewhere that for every can of beer or glass of alcohol or glass of soda, one needs to drink 2 - 8oz glasses of water to balance the hydration in the body. And on the other side of things (and please don't think I'm trying to dismiss the importance of water, because I do very much believe in it's healing powers) I have also found myself very much hydrated, and still having panic attacks. A panic attack can be started due to other deficiencies as well. So like you were saying Owen, the cure is not only in the water but in clean healthy eating. That's what I'm working on, now that my attacks have resurfaced. I'm a smoker, and a drinker, and I know I have to quit both to truly work on my health, but having a little trouble doing that. I'm working on it backwards - by doing the cleanses and getting essential minerals and vitamins into me in ways that I know to be better absorbed, and knowing that when my body is getting the nutrients it needs, it will no longer crave the bad things. Everyone is different and does things in the way that they can, when they can. Brad - I applaud you for your abstinence and truly wish for you a renewed spirit with proper eating. It does take time, so hang in there!!
