I like your explaination orobar! I would consider myself atheist because I can't say I believe in a god. I certainly do not believe in a one all knowing, all powerful being who created the universe, put life on earth and brought about my existence. The idea of a being like this needing worship is foolishness to me. The idea of a "hell" and a "heaven" type place seams utterly ridiculous. I also believe if there really is an all powerful, all knowing, etc. god, this being would do something to end the distruction done in his/her/it's name. Religion controls people using fear. If you do "fill in the blank" you will burn in hell. I simply don't need the threat of "hell" to choose kindness, tolerance, mercy, compassion, etc. I simply have no reason to believe in a god as of yet. Tweet
