Re: REFLEX SYMPATHETIC DYSTROPY

Hello my name is Robin and my husband has RSD he has suffered for eight years. It came from a crush injury to his right hand. It has been a nightmare for his whole family. He went through numerous surgeries to repair the initial injury to his hand and when the pain continually got worse the doctors tried carpal tunnel surgery, that didn't work so they tried nerve blocks, then a sympathectomy and of coarse that did not work, he now sweats on just one side of his body and none on the other side. the doctors then decided to put him on morphine for 5 1/2 years that is when the nightmare really began he became addicted to it severly and began abusing it and almost died twice from it. The doctor that had put him on the morphine decided that he no longer wanted to deal with the problem so he washed his hands of him. We finally found some good doctors who care and have got the RSD somewhat under control. He is still in pain all of the time, but it is better than dealing with the drug addiction to the morphine. I hope you all the best in dealing with your RSD. We'll keep you in our prayers.
