I think the betaine hcl has gotten me to start digesting food, especially ones high in arginine, breaking them down and using them before the virus gets a chance to do it before me. I've quit taking betaine hcl a few weeks ago and haven't had monolauren since I reported it on my last post. Also been eating tons of high arginine foods. I am on my 5th jar of peanut butter since I reported starting back eating it after giving it up for 20 years and still no breakouts! I doubt that I am cured but I don't totally dismiss the possibility. I have my monolaurin and betaine hcl standing by to take at the first sign of a break out. Or any virus or illness for that matter!
I believe the betaine HCL has given my body a jump start and now my body is making enough of it's own HCl and that I no longer require it. I still plan on taking it once in a while 'cause I think it helps dissolve excess calcium in my body but due to the fact that I was taking up to two tablespoons a day I think I over did it and a few weeks ago I started taking a finely powdered bone meal supplement. I've noticed a calming effect from the bone meal powder and a feeling of well being that was totally unexpected. The same day my bone meal powder came my calcium orotate arrived and I thought the effect was from that but after experimenting I was surprised to discover the expensive calcium orotate was doing nothing for me and it was all due to the bone meal powder!
I don't believe I am cured but I do believe that I am totally on the right track and have achieved success!
