Browbie, concerning another point in your last post:

Two comments:
1. The mainstream eye profession has never tried any other approaches, so we don't know whether surgery has a superior efficacy.
2. The decision as to whether to use surgery or to develop another approach should be that of the patient - NOT the eye profession.
But since no alternative to surgery exists (because the eye profession never wanted an alternative, by their own admission), patients cannot make an informed decision. Therefore, the patient has no choice in the matter. Have the surgery, or go blind
(= blackmail). If that's not 'ruthless', then I don't know what is.
