Re: update/feeling awful , confusion

Thanks for this. I have started taking Iodine this week (December 2017). I have hashimotos. I read Lynne Farrow’s book earlier this month and wanted to give it a try. I have been keto this last 8 months so a lot of the supplements recommended I was already taking - selenium (200mcg daily), sole water (salt infused water - 5 or 10mg daily), vitamin B complex, and vitamin c (3000iu per day) and magnesium (a 1/8th teaspoon every morning).

I started on 25mcg of the logul’s Iodine and went up to 50mcg. Also slightly increased my salt intake. This past couple of days I have been experiencing edema which I have never had before and this gave me a bit of a fright. I think your recommendation to the ‘watercure’ May have explained some of this - I will insure that my water intake meets his recommendations - I don’t think I was having enough.

I am slightly nervous to increase my Iodine intake too rapidly. My TSH is already elevated despite 100mg dose of thyroxine (sythroid). On reading this: http://jeffreydachmd.com/hashimotos-selenium-and-iodine-part-two/ I am willing to keep going ensuring that the selenium is adequate and try to find some ATP cofactors (doesn’t seem to be readily available in Australia, will need to order from the States).

Have you had experience with hashimotos and iodine? Is the elevated TSH a problem or just a transition affect?
