Re: Blastocystis hominis and co-trimoxazole (Bactrim)
Hello,
Thanks to everyone for all the posts about Blasto. I have been sick for about two years now and suspected a
parasite infection for a long time but couldn't find a doctor willing to confirm. I have finally found a dr. to do the test and sure enough I came up positive for BH. He is a very good dr. and willing to help. He prescribed Metronizadole which I haven't taken yet due to my research showing it isn't very effective. I don't want to take a bunch of meds unless I am confident they will work.
To get more to the point, I know you have all heard my story before...
I have been reading endlessly trying to figure this out but finally just decided to post a question formally, hoping to get a direct answer...
Can someone clarify for me which meds are "second line" therapy? I tried Bactrim long ago all by itself when no one, not even myself, thought a parasitic infection was at play, but it didn't do anything. I'm wondering how it is going to be useful in conjunction with other meds or if "second line" therapy doesn't include Bactrim.
Also, can anyone assist me in the procedure for acquiring meds from the US. My dr will be glad to help I think if it doesn't require him to spend hours contacting another country. Hopefully I can do most of the work and obtain a letter from him? Please advise as specifically as possible as to whom to call, exact processes, etc.
Thank you so very much again.
PS: I am currently experimenting with French Montmorillite clay and I definitely notice it helps my stomach with the feeling of paralysis I get in the center behind my belly button. Cools it down, relaxes the nighttime washing machine effect that goes on in there. I tried illite clay and also oregon blue clay but so far I like the montmorillite best. Also experimenting with Simaruba and Kutki. Tried
Black-Walnut and
Wormwood with no effects and also diatomaceous earth. The DE helped but didn't cure. I also tried papaya seeds with no effect. Pumpkin seeds didn't do anything either. I took clove and flax seeds mixture which was the hardest remedy of them all. I literally could not get out of bed after taking it. I was sore in every bone and muscle in my body for days. I'm not sure if this was die off or from histamines released from taking clove. I feel like I spend every spare minute of my day trying to cure myself and to learn about everything and it's exhausting.
I also have joint pain not not in all my joints so I don't know if it's related. Actually just my left index finger.
Also I have become intolerant to eating garlic and onions. I get very sick and have excruciating pain in my brain and my stomach feels like a hard rubber basketball and thumps around like I swallowed a rubix cube. I know that's strange but it's the best description. Also very sensitive to probiotics. It's like a war starts in my stomach after taking them. I'm going to try Saccharomyces Boulardii however...
I hope this info helps someone out there too.
