Re: Blastocystis hominis and co-trimoxazole (Bactrim)
Hi Shrimpy,
It's quite a difficult question you ask me. Of course every day is slightly different but overall I am only able to function within the house. I feel very sick (headache and diziness/lightheadedness) after waking up, then after a few hours I do some work (some small household tasks, some paperwork, cooking, searching the internet for my disease...); have to lay down a little bit after it; again do some small things and so on. Stangely enough I have my 'best' moments in the evenings but can't afford to go to bed too late otherwise my next morning will be like hell... Some days are what I call 'better' days (but still nothing compared to how it was when I was not sick), then I don't have to lay down that much and can for example go to the supermarkt or another shop.
Fortunately my husband is working and my collegues at work are very understanding. They know very well I will come back to work once healed. Because it's not possible to go out for me, my friends come to visit me out home. I lost a lot of 'friends' in this one year but only think of it in a positive way; now I know who I can really rely on...
Hope I answered your question a bit. But please please keep in mind everybody is different; my story doesn't necessarily predict another persons process. And please try to think positive while on the triple meds. I wish you all the luck needed to overcome this bug!
Two days ago I found a doctor who is willing to treat me with the triple therapy and wants to help me to import the meds from Australia. Could I ask you if it was difficult to contact this clinic in Australia? And how willing where they to send the meds? How long did it take all together? Just want to be prepared on how long I have to suffer before I can finally try a treatment?
Take care
