Re: My life with pinworms and my top food that I love to eat while living with my pinworms

I am sorry! I was so miserable last November when I was taking albendazole. But I discovered other critters then. I was trying to do Albendazole once every 10 days, but after three days the itching came back so I took it again. Then 3 days later they came back again.. so I did every day for about 10 days, on day 7 or so the itching was so intense I was in total denial that it was pinworms, it had to be anal fissures or something. After 3 days of that insanity I finally found a pinworm! Quit albendazole (despite the presence of tapeworms.. bad idea?) and started DE. DE was so helpful to me (I had used it many times in the past), killed yeast and after a week on it usually took care of pinworms (but don't get off of it for a LONG time). But I'd quit after 2 months or so and try meds then the pinworms would come back. I think DE knocked their numbers down and other critters numbers down so that the meds were effective on the first dose (usually) but eventually didn't work... not sure why exactly. Maybe not enough med or not the right kind. I am finally sane enough (when the pinworm itch is less it is easier to think) to try to kill everything. I am using mebendazole (2-3 pills morning and night), 7 days on 7 days off per ICU, except I jump start with an added dose of pyrantel pamatote 24 hours before a dose of albendazole (600mg) then start the mebendazole treatment... but I have a combined infection, pinworms, ascaris, and tapeworm. I have no idea what I am doing... only know that I am killing a lot of ascaris. Itching is still around but mild and only at night or after a very wormy bowel movement. At this point I may not have pinworms anymore.. difficult to know, but definietly have Ascaris and Tapeworms still.

You asked about most effective foods - 3 day pineapple fast helped me tremendously (and wasn't that hard then, some reason I feel to dizzy and tired now when I try it) and pumpkin seeds offered the only relief when the pinworm itching was bad. 1/4 cup roasted and salted and after 10 minutes or so I'd get a few hours of relief! Keep on fighting! Best of luck.
