Re: Are they alive?
Doxycyline is an
Antibiotic from the tetracycline family used to treat parasitic strongoloids. This
Antibiotic sterilizes the females and kills the bacteria protecting the parasites
Moxidectin is a de-wormer related to Ivermectin. DO NOT GIVE EITHER of THESE TO YOUR DOG = DEATH Moxidectin comes in a tube for giving to ponies. Moxidectin is designed for horses and ponies who happen to be the biggest victims of strongoloids.
Yes, the white hair like things do emerge from the skin alive and I have seen them moving also. YOU ARE NOT CRAZY.
The bloody things you are spitting up are likely bloody tissue as a result of parasites. It indicates to me that you have ascaria as these are the ones that reside in the small intestine and the stomach. The Fenbendazole will stop them.
Be very careful not to confuse anything you buy. In the beginning I would put the description and use on a 3x5 card and tape it to the container.
I have had great success treating my dog with Doxycycline and Fenbendazole.
100 MG Doxycycline every 12 hours (6 weeks on 2 weeks off) and 3 days of Fenbendazole 5 MG/KG every 2 weeks. After 1 year of treatment she has finally stopped peeing involuntarily.
If you can get a vet to prescribe Advantage Multi it would be helpful. This is a monthly flea control topical that also contains Moxidectin at a very low dose suitable for dogs. Again, DO NOT give your dog either Moxidectin or Ivermectin. These 2 must be diluted to such an extent it is too easy to make a mistake and kill the dog.
Buy a
quart bottle of Permethrin 10% and soak all your cloths in about 5 gallons of hot water with one once of Permethrin BEFORE washing. Keep your treated cloths separate from the untreated. Most people use trash bags.
When this got too tedious for me I just emptied all my closets and drawers and washed everything. Took 3 days.
Put an ounce of permethrin in the pre-wash cycle for sheets and bedspreads. Permethrine is available on Amazon or your local farm store.
Use a tape lint roller on your sheets every morning to pick up the sand particles. This will help to reduce the reinfection rate.
