Re: My new plan to deal EC.
Help is needed .
Hi again freeagent. In reply to that :
3) Climate - I suppose it depends .. some climates are humid and hot, others are dry and hot. The northern regions (where I am from) are generally cold and dry or cold and humid, most of the time. Sun is going to have a drying effect on the lips anyway, but so is the cold and so is the wind.. it's a difficult one.
4) I get plenty of protein from nuts, seeds, legumes, etc..I eat chia seeds, almonds, cashews, kindey beans, green beans, chickpeas, quinoa, rice, potatoes, peas.. google vegan protein sources..I also make a lot of smoothies and I add vegan plant protein powder (they sell it online in tubs) - more expensive than standard animal protein powder but not by much. It makes smoothies/juice taste fantastic... look at pro-bodybuilders and a lot of recreational lifters.. they eat disgusting amounts of the stuff together with all sorts of other drugs and don't develop EC...
Actually, by going vegan I think I've made it much easier to heal the EC this time around because without eating animal proteins (including dairy/eggs) my teeth have to do less work to chew and bite down.. I've noticed a lot less disturbance after meals and the lips stay fresher without me feeling as though I haven't cleaned them properly. Staying away from refined
Sugar is important.. a massive fruit smoothie (contains a lot of fructose) does not seem to fur my teeth up), whereas some fries and ketchup will give me toothache and make me feel as though I need to spend longer with the brush.
From a nutritional perspective I only supplement with omega 3 EPA & DHA.. everything else comes from plant based sources.. I've never been leaner and more muscular in my life. In the past I under rated how important it was to keep the lips moisturised. I've gone 3 days now with the same build up and because coconut oil is constantly applied, the scabs are almost unnoticable. I think the foodgrade toothpaste makes a massive difference to not disturbing the wound as well.
7) I suppose we just need to face it and be brave. Imagine how good it will feel once it's over... and remember, everyone you see in the street you most likely will never see again.
