vata and science
I believe there is no ONE single valid system of understanding the world or health/disease. All systems have their weak points and wrong turns. In medical
Science for example it is said that about 50% of all concepts are going to be changed, updated or completely refuted in less than 30-40 years. Like, for example, the majority of vaccines given today would be, hopefully, in the future regarded as an act of indoctrination and pseudo-scientific barbarism.
I feel you are smart to combine knowledge from different systems.
I generally felt weaker for a good 2 months after a 9 day water fast, so all I know that strength and resilience to anything (good or bad) is going to be rebuilt very slowly. I totally think you are doing the right thing by going with your body's needs and signals. I am also predominantly vata (vata-pita). And I became also more sensitive to cold, exertion, bad food (grains and dairy, and other), which I do nto consider bad thing. Eventually these sensations subside but I would like to think that I am smarter now to avoid them even when I can tolerate them better :)
