Re: Mercury affecting thyroid?
Hi NeedToBFixed.
The skin is a big mystery, but I really do think that it has something to do with the endocrine system. Since mercury is known to screw up the thyroid, I think there is a very good chance that (even though I think I have been mercury toxic for a number of years) my thyroid just finally stopped functioning properly...I noticed the skin problems probably about eight months before beginning the detox. So, at that time, after having
Amalgams in my mouth for well over half my life, I'm sure the accumulation was overwhelming to the whole system.
I think I do have a chance that I have hypothyroidism now. After doing a great deal of reading on the subject, however, it doesn't seem like there are any tests out there that accurately diagnose thyroid disfunction. And mainstream medicine's cure is by giving synthetic drugs that will eventually (as I understand it) burn out the adrenal gland. I wonder if when the mercury is finally way down, if everything will just start functioning normally again.
I wonder...do you (or possibly anyone else who's reading) know if the thyroid is able to come back after being damaged by mercury??? I would love to be able to have HOPE that it would.
