Re: Amalgams out
You picked the wrong guy to discuss this with.
A couple of years before discovering my heavy metal (HM) problem I had a problem with a couple of parasites.
For almost my entire life I was quite regular-1 BM a day almost like clockwork. However back around 2008 I started going twice or more per day with very short notice, along with diarrhea, etc.
I put up with that for several months--ok not so smart. I lost ten
pounds that I did not really need to loose, the last couple while trying to re-gain weight!
A metametrix stool test reported two parasites. After less than a week on Alinia medication I was back to normal.
Several years prior to that I had a different stool test, not the Metametrix (DNA?) test. I was mostly looking for candida which was actually quite low. It did not report a
parasite problem.
Prior to this, my life had been messed up for 15 years with a long list of mild-moderate symptoms that my doctors did little to alleviate. I got some gains from certain supplements such as selenium and tyrosine. I got some benefit from a modest dose of ADD medication. My overall health did not change after the
parasite meds except the obvious
parasite symptoms.
My HM symptoms included a bone density problem that was discovered after I broke my leg just playing badminton with little nieces. I did not trip or slip or collide with anyone. I just turned, lunged and both bones of my lower leg snapped like pieces of chalk.
DEXA bone density tests after the accident and 1.5 yrs later reported the bone density problem that was not responding well to my doctor's medication and supplements. The doc was a former med school prof. He told me medicine does not know why I don't rebuild bone normally.
However 1.5 yrs after starting HM detox--A. Cutler's protocol--a followup DEXA reported 8% improvement in my back to borderline normal. My leg was borderline normal as well.
Around the same time a blood test reported that my kidney eGFR numbers normalized. Another test at 3.5 yrs of detox reported additional gains into the 70s.
Hair tests at 1yr and 1.5 yrs reported cadmium and lead in the red while most of the essential elements were reasonably normal looking. It was not close to matching a Cutler Counting Rule.
I had grown up in a family with a renovation construction biz. My pop renovated large old homes along with decorators. I can't tell you how many times in the Summer as a teen and college student that I cut or planned rare, old lead-painted mouldings.
My health started to decline while I was in grad school. I became too fogged out to work in the area of my degrees so ended up back in the family biz absorbing more HMs.
Cadmium was a tint in some of the old paint. It is associated with soft bones and kidney problems.
Strangely my father does not have my symptoms and I don't have his--cholesterol, heart.
A number of other mild symptoms disappeared, others were improved. Shortly after my doctor suggested that I no longer needed the last of the medications I had been on--Adderall for ADD for 5 years. I just continued with various supplements. btw. I did not have ADD as a kid or teen. That started with my other HM symptoms in my late 20s.
