Being very honest with you, I feel like you know more than the people who replied to you unfortunately - such is the case in these forums sometimes.

Trust your gut (... ironic huh). Money is concern, why not the first option that uses less medicine to save money and to help your system by not overloading with it with things it needs to digest and filter out? If that doesn't work, then do option #2. I don't think those doctors are dumb, there is truth in everything. Feel free to PM for advice, though I don't relate to what you're going through, just know that I am around to answer questions if you need it. Tweet
