Oh I believe you when you say you think acid suppressing drugs made your situation worse. I have a feeling that perhaps my candida became a problem because I was taking Zantac and then later, Prilosec for heartburn. Stomach acid performs a necessary function. Namely, to kill pathogens before they make it to your intestines. I never took lots of Antibiotics , some but not lots. But I was on acid suppressors for years. I found a book that helped me with acid reflux (GERD): Why Stomach Acid Is Good For You. It says that the solution to GERD is to take hydrochloric acid supplements! Goes against reason and common sense but it works! You will have to read the book to believe it.
