Kidney Cyst plus Hypertension. Water fast?
Hello,
My health situation is peculiar. Some aspects are good, and some are bad.
The bad :
I am only 41, but a Kidney Cyst (Type 2F/Type 3) was found during a CT Scan after I had blood clots in my urine. The cyst is only 2cm in diameter, but is already at the Type 2F/3 stage, so pre-cancerous.
I also have had high blood pressure for at least 10 years, which now is alarmingly high at 145/98 on average.
The good :
I look very fit from the outside. Full head of hair, youthful skin, and V-shaped torso. People usually think I am 33-34 rather than 41. 6'4" and 195 lbs, 10% body fat. Sadly, this can still mean a person has cancerous cysts and hypertension.
My diet :
I would say my diet for the past decade has been so-so. The details are :
I stopped consuming all refined sugars, white flour, and the worst processed food 10 years ago.
I go out of my way to eat superfoods like blueberries, garlic, turmeric, etc.
90-95% of my diet was vegetarian.
BUT...
I still ate a lot of whole wheat, and drank the ordinary homogenized milk for breakfast every day. Until recently, I did not know how bad ordinary dairy was.
I drink a lot of coffee, including instant coffee.
The water I drink may not be filtered very well.
So overall, I would say my diet was so-so. My diet and exercise habits were certainly not bad enough to lead to hypertension like this, so it must have something to do with the kidneys (and thus the cyst).
Allopathic doctor recommedations :
I did not like what the Kaiser docs told me at all. They put me on a blood-pressure medication for my hypertension (and even that does not work). Plus, for my renal cyst, they said I need a partial nephrectomy, and if the bleeding is too much, that might have to become a full nephrectomy then and there.
I think it is far too drastic to risk the loss of a full kidney just due to a cyst! Plus, the underlying problem (toxemia or whatever) is still present. Plus, living with one kidney when you also have high BP is a guaranteed life-shortener..
Fasting :
In doing my research, I found that people have permanently corrected both hypertension and cysts with water fasts. Since my cyst is only 2cm in diameter, the volume is not much, and autolysis might eat it quickly. I have already started the phase into a water fast, but am still unsure about duration and type.
1) People die during
Water Fasts from electrolyte imbalances, cardiac arrest, etc. Should I take lemon juice during the fast (turning it into a minimal juice fast)? Or will that halt the autolysis even from those few calories?
2) Should I do
The Master Cleanse instead of a water fast? How about if the syrup is not as much, but only 1 tbsp the whole day?
3) Elsewhere, I read that
Water Fasts damage kidneys and the liver. Is this true?
4) Fasting centers are expensive! A full program for a 12-day
Water Fast + 6 day refeed at a place like True North can run $3500+. That is a lot of money. I have to go it alone, but I have to make sure I don't die.
Any other ideas? I really need to correct my hypertension and renal cyst, WITHOUT the nephrectomy. Again, my main goal is autolysis and lowering of BP. I am NOT seeking weight loss, fat loss, etc. since I don't have much fat.
Thanks.
