Re: Accuracy of elisa strongyloides test

Ascaris elisa tests for enzyme of round worm 205 kiladon kda which is one of the heaviest bands of round worms.

It actually has a reading irreguardless of which roundworm you have.

There are 13 or so enzymes thatcan be tested.
Research and development labs do a matrix of 96 test wells. These dots in a grid can be used to identify the specis of round worm.

The accuracy is so so.

What they found out is that other parasite infections cause a fluctuation in the data, hense the reading of the data.

God forbid you read something wrong.

The journals, studies, labs, pharma will tweak the testing for decades while billions of infected people suffer.

Actually, strongyldoies infection lowers the 205 kda amplitude, making the data look more like an ascarid.

There are more than 1000 round worm specis ans 13 antiparasitic meds.

Does it really matter?

Round worms are tough to eliminate.

Meds
A lot of meds
A whole lot of meds is the only difference we are talking about.

Accuracy only counts with nukes and horseshoes.

Doctors spend thousands of man years discussing a mute point.

Treat it round or flat
Treat it high, very high, dont kill the patient
Just treat it.

Believe me when i say when you feel better, knowing the actual worm, specis, or coinfecting specis mean little.

You finally feel better, that is what counts.
