I think there is a bit of a catch 22. Detox mobilized heavy metals (HMs) that put stress on adrenals and related systems; however if you leave the HMs unabated, they will do further damage to adrenals and related systems.
I like Cutler's approach. You get tested and get some adrenal support in place. You start with low doses of chelators plus plenty of antioxidant protection while being aware for signs of excessive stress on adrenals. Some people need to further reduce their dose of chelators after trying a couple of rounds.
