the human body has obviously not evolved perfectly. people still need glasses, people are born with defects, our ligaments, tendons, and bones are constantly getting injured from simple slips and knocks. point is, evolution isn't perfect. next point is that the paleolithic man had a life expectancy of about 33 years; i am sure this has to do with many many factors but we cant deny that perhaps it had something to do with not properly understanding the digestive system. we're all adults and can make our own decision on how to break our fast but i can tell you that if you even do just a 6 day fast and try to break it with a scoop of peanut butter or deli meat or whatever you are going to be in some real pain. i have made that mistake when i was younger. your body can handle the shock but i think the main point is that we have the knowledge now to break our fasts in ways that are more beneficial to the whole body in the short and long term. personally i am not taking any HCL betaine so that i can digest food nor am i going to eat anything solid for a few day. i am doing a cup of organic, fresh pressed, fruit/veggie juice diluted into 2 gallons of distilled water and drinking that for 2 days. then i may try veggie broth which will be some veggies simmered in water and then filtered thru cheese cloth. after about 4 days i will eat a little banana or tomato or something. this should cause me no gastrointestinal issues at all. yes i will live if i break my fast with solid food and/or high Sugar fruit but i dont want to deal with the pain and shock to my system. good luck.
