you cannot prove there is an ion exchange.. this is a manufactured explanation. One must study the history of invention of terms that constitute the "atom".
In 1896 the electron was postulated to exist by a Frenchman as an explanation of what was happening in Teslas workshop. After 2 years he retracted his hypothesis but it was too late the idea of an electron stuck.
The Neutron was postulated to exist 30 years later to balance the mass equation and charge factor. The entire atomic model is an invention along with all the rest of the particles. And really the phrase "it's likely that" is not scientific its pure speculation. You should not use it in a scientific Debate.
I would point out to you that some of them "specific" methods for detection LOOK for FREQUENCY they dont look for nucleus construct.
If you control the scientific standards and concepts you control the direction Science and inventions go.
Protons, electron and neutrons have never been proven to exist as part of the atomic structure. It wasnt electrons Tesla bounced around the world to light up light bulbs in distant towns without wires. It was FIELD SCIENCE.
