Re: upping selenium dosage

The B12's can be tricky and due to a large number of gene abnormalities there can be many reasons why normal amounts or even what one considers a lot of B12 simply are not enough.

In some cases 40mg a day or more B12 are needed to really allow people to heal. The form and brand of B12 is also very important. There are many enecdotal stories of people claiming they get plenty of B12 yet when they change brand/type they immediately see improvements.

Many B complexes have cyanocobalamin which is nearly worthless for most people. The better ones have a combination of cyanocobalamin with methylcobalamin or dibencozied. Some respond better to abdb12 and others to methylb12, some need both.

Also most complexes use folic acid which like cyanocobalamin is worthless for many people. You want to take methylfolate. Personally I take 800mcg 2x a day.

Moral of the story dont just assume your getting enough B12 or folate because you take a B complex. For and brand matter a lot. B12 is very susceptible to heat and light. Additionally for B12 to really be effective it should be sublingual and kept between cheek and gum for >45 when you take it.

I was on a potent B complex for a long time and thought the same as you. But when I started using 10-40mg of both dibencozide and methylcobalamin, thats when the magic happened.
