Re: Help me please : Is it my adrenals ?
I do believe that a lot of the problems you are having could be connected to your diet but probably not entirely, there could be other factors. Personally, I don't think there is anything wrong with a vegan diet, raw-vegan diet, that one I have some issues with, namely that it is basically like a starvation diet, this will wreak havoc on hormones, adrenals, etc. Do not listen to anyone that gives you diet advice and then refuses to acknowledge the problems you have with it and just says "your body is detoxing", this leads to many, many problems. Yes, there is such a thing as body detox, I have experienced it but generally body detox lasts for days not weeks and months. If your health slowly deteriorates over time this is absolutely not detox, this is your health being destroyed, don't let it escalate out of control, take care of your health now. If you really need to remain vegan okay, but give your body proper nourishment, eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, that's great but you also have to supply your body with proper macro-nutrients, you need some form of dense nutrition, whether it be from grains, beans, or whatever. Above all, just be careful not to starve yourself, something that lands quite a few people in the Adrenal Fatigue forum.
I am not a fan of supplementing with iodine, in my case I also tend toward hyper-thyroidism and although
Iodine initially gave me more energy, over time it made my symptoms of hyper-thyroidism worse, I have read many, many people with similar stories. Supplementing with
Iodine is not without possible side-effects, don't listen to those that say take as much as you want and it can never hurt you, simply not true. I'm not saying don't take it, just saying be wary.
