Re: Are you already overstimulated?

Yes, I have been struggling with adrenal fatigue for the past 2 years after I had a very bad case of malaria, and I certainly DO believe it is a real disorder. Natway and I do agree that carbohydrates play a vital role in human health (also 100% of nutritionists agree with this but that is not necessarily saying a lot) but we also disagree on my points as well. How do you identify various stages of adrenal fatigue? I have no interest in having my cortisol levels tested because I have doubts about what this is actually indicative of. I will be looking into the physiological effects of the body in regard to AF in the future, but I feel that drawing conclusions based on physiological observations may very often be flawed. Western medicine is currently able to observe almost every physiological process in the body and are still unable to truly cure even one disease. Ayurvedic practitioners could not observe a single physiological process in the body but were able to cure thousands of diseases. If we do not understand the forces underlying all life and disease, we are doomed to failure, and this is why I am choosing to focus on this end of it for now. I agree with you that many (if not most) alternative practitioners do more harm than good and I have experienced this first hand, but I still want to explore various alternative practices and try to figure out the truth and the flaws to these methods. Finding the truth in this world is not an easy thing.

Basically, I was mostly bed-bound for about half of 2012, then I made somewhat of a recovery only to crash again at the beginning of 2013. The beginning of 2013 I was again mostly stuck in bed, unable to do even very easy exercise, like walking. Over this time, I have varied my diet somewhat to try to make some improvement and what I have found is this: when I eat more protein and fat, I initially feel better and have less stomach irritation, but over time my overall health and well-being slowly decreases and my adrenal fatigue becomes worse. When I focus on eating more carbohydrates with less protein and less fat (but still a decent amount) and also avoiding other stimulating foods, I initially feel worse and I feel gastrointestinal discomfort, but over time my overall health and well-being improves and the symptoms of adrenal fatigue also subside a bit (but it is a very slow process and takes a lot of time). I am certainly far from cured and I really don't know exactly how much damage my body has endured and am unsure if I can ever be as healthy as I was before, but I am certainly going to try my best to restore my health.

Sorry if my arguments don't seem to make sense to you, I can certainly understand how they sound backwards, but to me based on my current understanding it makes sense and I will have to see what kind of progress I make to confirm my theories to myself.
