Re: Stomach issues after cleanse

THey can be expensive if you have to pay out of pocket....maybe $300 or something, but sometimes insurance reimburses. The lab I hear about most that has the most advanced testing is Metemetrix Lab. There is someone on here who is using them now I think but I forgot who. Maybe they will post here.

Me personally, I didn't bother. The labs can find things sometimes but there is no guarantee they can find them all and you can end up treating yourself for one type and miss many others, as there rarely is just one kind.

There is a protocol on here that is specific to the type of parasite you have, however, in order for it to be effective you would have to know exactly what you have AND you would have to be sure that that is ALL you have as well.

There is a theory and another protocol that some do whereby you don't really know what it is exactly that you have but know you have something and so you go through a course of 4 to 5 meds to cover all ground. It starts with killing the larger parasites down to the smallest...and the outer parts of the body down to the intestines.

Basically it involves taking two different meds - Ivermectin on the 1st day and Prazinquantel on the 2nd day - this is to kill the worms that have migrated to other parts of the body first.

Days 3 - 5 you take Albendazole to eradicate the ones that the first two meds didn't get.

Days 6 - 15 - Alinia or Flagyl is taken to eradicate protozoans (which the larger worms usually harbor).

Optionally some people take a luminal agent like Humatin for a week to 10 days after that.

That's a total of about 25 days of meds.

Some think this it is over the top, others think it's not enough. It's certainly comprehensive. It just depends on what you feel is best for your situation.
