Re: Vitamin A + Zinc is the key
No one really seemed to believe the Zinc and Vitamin A deficiency theory so thanks.
Yes, if one has a Zinc deficiency one likely also has a Vitamin A deficiency. I did not know that allergies could cause a Zinc deficiency. I just assumed it was caused by my celiac disease. But, I am allergic to wheat in addition to celiac disease. I have both a Zinc and Vitamin A deficiency.
Do you think applying Red Palm Oil (high in Vitamin A) will absorb in the lips and temporarily heal them while one is building up levels of Zinc and Vitamin A internally? Some people might have the Vitamin deficiencies from organ problems instead of allergies, though. It might harder for those people to absorb these supplements. But, allergies could be another possible cause. Do you eat fat with the Vitamin A supplements? The ingredients of some Vitamin A supplements contain cod liver oil (fat) so that probably helps with absorption.
Just a reminder that Zinc and Copper compete with each other. If you take Zinc supplements, you should also take Copper supplements. There is a certain ratio, but the Zinc supplement needs to be higher than the Copper supplement. So, I just take a Zinc/Copper supplement that already has the right Zinc/Copper ratio.
